I have had a few experiences lately that have made me realize that I want the truth of God's Word to be my plumbline, not man's words or and idea, but only His word.

That is my life-source, my hope, my promise! And I don't want to be the fool who rejects it!

R is for Ruth

Hi this is Mark. I have taken over from Ruth on the letter "R". I have done this with good reason. I will in short order explain why Ruth is an amazing gift from God. Ruth is completely genuine and as such has nothing to hide. What you see is what you get. She is the greatest friend I have ever known. She is radically devoted to her Lord and friend Jesus, and has a radical passion for his interests especially his people. She possesses many gifts, talents, and abilities. She is an advocate for the broken and downtrodden. She always stands up for the underdog. When it comes to the people that she loves she is like a lioness fighting to protect her young ones. Ruth has an adoptive heart towards all children. She is a mother to every child that comes into contact with her. She has a large capacity to love the so-called unlovely. When it comes to loving the underdog, I have always felt that I was the most unworthy of her affections yet she has found it in her heart to show me the unconditional love of our redeemer. I know that she will always stand by my side as my defense, my help, and my co-heir of life. I love you Lioness of the Lord.

when God spoke hope to me again!

The Garden of My Life

I am afraid To plant this seed.The sun is warm,

The earth is rich and ready,

But the days go by, And still no planting.

Why? The springtime of my life Is passing, too.

And 6 years' planting in a willing soil has borne no living fruit.

So many times I've waited,

Hoped, believed, that God would perform a miracle...

Incredible, but common.

Nothing grew. And often times I feel

The mystery of life and growth

Is known to all but me, Or that reality

Is not as it appears to be.

I have a choice: To put aside this seed,

Leaving the planting to the proven growers,

Pretending not to care for gardening,

And knowing if I do not try I cannot fail.

Or plant, And risk again the well known pain

Of watching for the first brave green

And seeing only barren ground.

He also spoke about a seed, The mustard's tiny grain,

Almost too small to see, But, oh - the possibilities!

Those who doubt, who fear, Are not inclined to cultivate it.

But it was to them He spoke.

And God remembered

The seed is in my hand, The trowel in the other;

I am going to the garden

Papa
who I wouldn't change for anything!!!
He is my Father, but also my leader! I follow him as he follows Christ! And many of you wonder "Oooh! What must it have been like to be a pastors kid growing up?"
Well, I lived with a man who had weaknesses just like everyone else. He failed, messed up & fell short like anyone else. But the man I grew up showed me what it was like to fall at the feet off Jesus. He taught me what it meant to live in the Grace of God, and to cling whole heartedly to His unchanging love.
He taught me to love the unlovely, accept the rejected, adopt the abandoned & receive the forsaken. He taught me because he lived this. Day in and day out. This was the man I saw.
That no matter the mistake, He was totally in love with his Savior and he would do anything in his power to live a life of worship & adoration to the One who had reached down into the mire & rescued him.
I'm proud to know him!

The Oak

A thunderous storm got up one night
with pouring rain and forks of light,
gale force winds rushed through the wood,
to where the mighty oak tree stood.

But the old Oak tree it stood its ground
when younger trees fell all around,
ripping branches, tearing bark,
the wind raged on into the park.

The howling tempest raged and spoke
"How are you still standing mighty oak."
The tree replied, I know that you,
could break a branch of mine in two,
